About Me

DSC_6054.JPG

I am a licensed psychologist in DC and VA, and have 15+ years of clinical experience. It’s an honor to get to know each of my clients and help them in their journey towards healing and growth. As a therapist, I get to do what I love: help people heal from difficult situations, develop authentic and meaningful relationships, and live a life that honors their strengths, passions, and identity. Counseling, to me, is collaborative - we will work together to create a warm and safe space where you can pursue goals that are important to you. Based on feedback from my clients, my approach is non-judgmental, insightful, and interactive. Clients often tell me I am easy to talk to, and that I ask great questions. I believe in working towards better understanding of ourselves and our relationships, but also meaningful change in our lives.

As an individual therapist, I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, multicultural and identity issues, grief/loss, and coping with transitions. It is my passion to provide culturally responsive and affirming care, particularly for marginalized communities. I regularly engage in my own personal and professional learning so I can better understand and work towards dismantling systems of oppression.

In my practice, I am passionate about working with couples who are struggling in their relationship. It may be that conflicts have increased to the point that we feel stuck, misunderstood, and resentful towards our partners. Or maybe we just want to feel closer to our partners, like when we were first dating or married. I am certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, a research-based approach that has been shown to effectively reduce conflict and help couples better communicate and connect with one another.
